A Week In Guitars 7-15-11
It has been a busy week, so I thought I would just to a single week-end post.
The first few guitars are headed to BC Rich and then on to the Summer NAMM show. Next you will see a Jackson soloist with a Blackhawk”s Logo for a customer named Todd. Drew, in Canada is the proud owner of the “Skelly Warrior and Lizard Monster.” The shop is FULL of guitars… so look for a Blitzkrieg of art next week!!
Check Out “Judgement Day” at The Music Zoo
The other piece that had people all a-buzz at the Jackson NAMM booth was the hand-carved “soloist” – JUDGEMENT DAY. This beauty has found its way into the caring hands of the guys at The Music Zoo and they have some absolutely beautiful images!! Check out the listing here:
The NAMM Aluminum Guitar & Spotlight Music
Spotlight Music – a Jackson dealer local to us – just a bit North in Fort Collins – was the lucky recipient of the Jackson NAMM highlight guitar… The aluminum topped, ground and airbrushed, Kelly. It sure didnt spend much time on the shelf! It is already gone… but not before I was able to grab some BEAUTIFUL images of this outstanding guitar.
Mike’s NAMM Photo Album
Here is a slideshow full of Mike and his work at the recent Winter 2011 NAMM show. Mike forgot the camera, so THANK YOU to all who have donated images that we are using to put this together!!
NAMM Special – Airbrushed Fretboard Intense Inlay
Another new technique Mike developed just for Jackson to debut at the Winter 2011 NAMM Show. A new, unique and eye-catching fret board technique! The airbrush was laid down in the routed channel of this super high-end fretboard, finished and then the whole instrument was painted to match with seamless design. This piece got a lot of looks at the Jackson Custom Shop Booth!!
NAMM Aluminum Topped Jackson
This is a new technique that Mike developed for debut at the 2011 Winter NAMM. It was featured in the Jackson Custom Shop Booth and was the HIT Of THE SHOW!! The guitar body and headstock is topped with an aluminum panel. Mike used a combination of grinding, transparent and opaque paints to create the illusion of a 3D carved piece. Pictures simply do not do this finish justice!!
Judgement Day: NAMM 3D Carved Custom
This guitar was also featured in the Jackson Custom Shop booth at the Winter NAMM just last week. Mike was given full artistic license to do whatever he wanted on this piece. It is a real monster!!
