Experimental Laminate Technique: Prototype THE MATRIX

Here is the first image of a new technique that Mike is trying out.  A large guitar manufacturer asked Mike to try to find a process that would work with holographic paper-backed substrate.  This is the result.  We have several other variations to try as well.  Could be a really exciting and diverse finish option!

  • Mike,
I would totally buy that guitar. I have a total fascination with the notion of a Matrix. I know that we should support airbrush art, but I know how difficult it is to make money from a guitar paintjob. Everything has to be perfectly taped and painted quickly. Then watersanded and buffed for a limited amount of money. I spoke with you once at a Las Vegas Getaway, and I have your magazines that you’ve published so far. I found the articles very informative and intriguing. Well, I’m going to try to visit the website each month for inspiration. I’ve got to work harder and push myself through this economy downturn. We are very hopeful that motorcycle art will make us successful, so we’re going for it. Thanks,
